Regular Season Round 4: Rouen - Poitiers 99-78

Very expected game when bottom-ranked Poitiers (0-3) was rolled over on the road by fifth ranked SPO Rouen (3-1) 99-78 on Saturday. SPO Rouen forced 21 Poitiers turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Poitiers was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. American power forward Amin Stevens (203-90, college: FAMU) fired a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Slovenian point guard Matic Rebec (183-95) chipped in 15 points and 8 assists. American-British power forward Laurence Ekperigin (201-88, college: LeMoyne) produced a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds and American-British point guard Akeem Williams (184-91, college: UMass Lowell) added 19 points and 6 assists respectively for lost side. Five SPO Rouen and four Poitiers players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. SPO Rouen have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place. Loser Poitiers still closes the standings with three games lost. SPO Rouen will face Saint-Quentin (#15) on the road in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Poitiers will play against Provence Basket and hopes to get finally their first victory.
