Regular Season Round 8: Oviedo - Burgos 90-73

Very expected game when 8th ranked Burgos (1-4) was defeated on the road by third ranked Oviedo (4-1) 90-73. Oviedo forced 19 Burgos turnovers and outrebounded them 38-23 including 16 on the offensive glass. It was a great shooting night for Oviedo especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 66.7 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. The winners were led by center Oliver Arteaga (208-83) who scored that evening 18 points and 8 rebounds and American-Haitian forward Marc-Eddy Norelia (203-93, college: FGCU, agency: Duran International) supported him with 17 points. Even 14 points and 5 assists by point guard Ricardo Uriz (188-80) did not help to save the game for Burgos. Trinidad and Tobago-Canadian Kris Joseph (201-88, college: Syracuse) added 12 points for the guests. Five Oviedo and four Burgos players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Oviedo maintains third position in Gold with 4-1 record behind leader Breogan. Newly promoted Burgos keeps the eighth place with four games lost. Oviedo's next round opponent will be league's second-placed Leyma Basquet in Coruna and it will be for sure the game of the week. Burgos will play at home against Valladolid (#5) and hope to win that game.
