Regular Season Round 8: Cactus - Vera 76-85

Everything could happen in Tbilisi at the game between two tied teams. Both eighth ranked Vera and 9th ranked Cactus had identical 2-4 record. But Cactus were not able to use a home court advantage and lost to the opponent from 85-76 on Saturday night. Cactus trailed by 13 points after 3 quarters before a 20-16 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 76-85 at the end of the game. Vera dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Cactus' 28. Worth to mention a great performance of French guard Bryson Scott (188-94, college: PFW) who helped to win the game recording 26 points and 5 rebounds and power forward Vakhtang Kadaria (205-89, college: Mineral Area) who added 19 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Scott is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Vera players scored in double figures. American point guard Samajae Haynes-Jones (183-96, college: Wichita St.) responded with 31 points and 4 assists and his fellow American import forward AJ Sumbry (203-94, college: Wagner, agency: Players Group) scored 11 points and 6 rebounds. Vera (3-4) moved-up to sixth place. Cactus at the other side keep the ninth position with five games lost. Vera will face Batumi (#8) on the road in the next round.
