Everything went according to plan in Matsuyama where fourth ranked Rizing (11-10) beat 7th ranked Orange Vikings (7-12) 85-78 on Saturday. Rizing forced 28 Orange Vikings turnovers. Orange Vikings were plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. American forward Jordan Glynn (200-89, college: SF Austin) stepped up and scored 31 points and 8 rebounds for the winners and his fellow American import power forward Gerald Beverly (202-93, college: Daemen) chipped in 13 points, 8 rebounds and 4 blocks. Four Rizing players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American-Filipino forward Eugene Phelps (198-90, college: LBSU) with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 18 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and American center Ryan Stephan (208-94, college: CMU) produced a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Rizing moved-up to third place. Loser Orange Vikings keep the seventh position with 12 games lost. Rizing will have a break next round. Orange Vikings will play again at home against Rizing (#3) and hope to win that game.
