Regular Season Round 20: Toyama G. - Kawasaki BT 101-102

The most exciting game of round 20 in the B1 League took place in Toyama. This derby game ended with only one-point home defeat of 4th ranked Toyama G. (13-7) to third ranked Toshiba Thunders (15-5) 102-101 on Saturday evening. Toshiba Thunders made 25-of-27 free shots (92.6 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. The best player for the winners was international point guard Ryusei Shinoyama (178-88) who scored 21 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). The former international point guard Yuma Fujii (178-91) chipped in 17 points and 7 assists. Zimbabwean-American forward Julian Mavunga (203-90, college: Miami, OH, agency: Pensack Sports) produced a triple-double by scoring 20 points, 12 rebounds and 13 assists and American center Richard Solomon (208-92, college: California, agency: Pensack Sports) added 20 points and 13 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Four Toshiba Thunders and five Toyama G. players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Toshiba Thunders have an impressive five-game winning streak. Defending champion keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Sea Horses M. and Ryukyu GK. Toyama G. lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the third place with seven games lost. They share the position with Nagoya DD and Hitachi SRT. Toshiba Thunders will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Toyama G. will play again at home against Toshiba Thunders and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
