Regular Season Round 10: CAB Madeira - Vitoria SC 85-66

An interesting game took place in Funchal where 7th ranked Vitoria SC (5-4) was upset on the court of tenth ranked CAB Madeira (3-5) 85-66 on Sunday. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Vitoria SC. CAB Madeira shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 66.7 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Lithuanian forward Arvydas Gydra (206-89) scored 30 points and 6 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Norwegian guard Mikkel Kolstad (193-95, college: Nova SE) chipped in 9 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists during the contest. At the losing side American guard Jaron Hopkins (198-94, college: Fresno St.) responded with 19 points and 6 rebounds (made all of his eleven free throws !!!) and point guard Carlos Cardoso (183-97) scored 11 points and 4 assists. CAB Madeira moved-up to ninth place. Loser Vitoria SC keeps the seventh position with four games lost. CAB Madeira will face Barreirense (#13) in Barreiro in the next round.
