Regular Season Round 7: Chalon - Roanne 80-85

We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams when fifteenth ranked Chorale de Roanne (2-3) defeated on the road 14th ranked Chalon/Saor (2-5) 85-80 on Tuesday. Chorale de Roanne dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Chalon/Saor's 32. Chorale de Roanne forced 20 Chalon/Saor turnovers. American swingman Ronald March (196-93, college: Philander Smith) fired 18 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. Point guard Sylvain Francisco (180-97) chipped in 13 points and 7 rebounds. March is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. American point guard Jordon Crawford (168-90, college: BGSU) produced 14 points and 9 assists and the other American import center Eric Buckner (208-90, college: Georgia St., agency: David Lee Services) added 15 points and 6 rebounds (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!) respectively for lost side. Five Chorale de Roanne and four Chalon/Saor players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Chorale de Roanne moved-up to thirteenth place. Loser Chalon/Saor dropped to the fifteenth position with five games lost. Chorale de Roanne will meet at home higher ranked JSF Nanterre (#6) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Chalon/Saor will play against Le Mans (#12) and hope to secure a win.
