Regular Season Round 5: Antibes - Vichy Clermont 86-92

There was a minor upset when 10th ranked Olympique Antibes (3-2) lost at home to twelfth ranked JA Vichy (2-1) 92-86 on Wednesday. JA Vichy forced 19 Olympique Antibes turnovers. Swedish Johan Lofberg (199-95) orchestrated the victory by scoring 20 points and 6 rebounds. Swingman Thomas Ceci-Diop (194-92) contributed with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Four JA Vichy players scored in double figures. JA Vichy's coach Guillaume Vizade used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. American forward Cleanthony Early (203-91, college: Wichita St.) answered with 14 points and 5 rebounds and naturalized Cameroonian point guard Gedeon Pitard (186-89) added 10 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Olympique Antibes. JA Vichy moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Paris. Loser Olympique Antibes dropped to the fourth position with two games lost. JA Vichy will face Lille Metropole (#15) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Olympique Antibes will play against Souffelweyersheim (#16) and hope to win that game.
