Regular Season Round 6: Hapoel H/M - M.Ashdod 79-95

There was a small surprise when seventh ranked Maccabi Ashdod (3-1) defeated on the road 5th ranked Hapoel H/M (3-2) 95-79 on Wednesday. Maccabi Ashdod made 20-of-25 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Maccabi Ashdod had a 34-17 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was American forward Billy McShepard (208-87, college: Valdosta St., agency: Blacktop Management) who had a double-double by scoring 15 points, 13 rebounds and 4 blocks. Jamaican-American swingman Durand Scott (195-90, college: Miami, FL) chipped in 19 points. Five Maccabi Ashdod players scored in double figures. Maccabi Ashdod's coach used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. At the other side the best for losing team was American LaceDarius Dunn (193-87, college: Baylor) who recorded 28 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists (went 11 for 11 at the free throw line !!!) and his fellow American import Storm Warren (211-88, college: LSU) added 25 points and 11 rebounds respectively. Maccabi Ashdod have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fifth place. Loser Hapoel H/M dropped to the sixth position with two games lost. Maccabi Ashdod will face H.Acre (#13) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Hapoel H/M will play against the league's second-placed H.Afula (#2) and hope to win that game.
