Important game to mention about took place in Barcelona. Fourteenth ranked Israeli Maccabi T-A (6-9) saved a 1-point victory on the road edging second-best Spanish FC Barcelona (11-4) 68-67 on Friday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the home team. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of FC Barcelona. FC Barcelona was ahead by 1 point after three quarters before a 15-13 charge of Maccabi T-A, which allowed them to win the game. FC Barcelona was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for Bosnian-Croatian Dragan Bender (212-97) who led his team to a victory scoring 15 points. American guard Elijah Bryant (196-95, college: BYU, agency: Pensack Sports) helped adding 10 points and 5 assists. The best for the losing side was Nikola Mirotic (208-91) with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds and American Cory Higgins (195-89, college: Colorado, agency: Network Sports International) scored 16 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Defending Israeli champion moved-up to thirteenth place. FC Barcelona at the other side keeps the second position with four games lost. Maccabi T-A will play against Panathinaikos (#15) in Athens in the next round. FC Barcelona will play on the road against Anadolu Efes (#10) in Istanbul and hopes to get back on the winning track.
