Regular Season Round 10: SOPCC - Kaysersberg 97-72

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 13th ranked Kaysersberg's (1-5) road loss to twelfth ranked SOPCC (2-3) in Pont de Cheruy 72-97 on Saturday. SOPCC dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Kaysersberg's 30. SOPCC forced 22 Kaysersberg turnovers and outrebounded them 43-30 including 28 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was a very good performance for Lionel Gaudoux (198-95) who helped to win the game recording 20 points and 8 rebounds. Senegalese center Ousseynou Laye-Basse (210-92) contributed with 14 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) for the winners. Four SOPCC players scored in double figures. Guard Kevin Walter (188-88) replied with 23 points and naturalized Serbian center Sreten Cabarkapa (203-84) added 15 points in the effort for Kaysersberg. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. SOPCC moved-up to ninth place in Group B. Kaysersberg lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the thirteenth position with five games lost. They share it with CFBB. SOPCC are looking forward to face higher ranked Andrezieux (#6) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Kaysersberg will play against Mulhouse (#8) and is hoping to prove to their fans that they can break losing series.
