Regular Season Round 22: Nagoya DD - Shiga L-Stars 76-55

Very expected game in Nagoya where 7th ranked Shiga L-Stars (8-14) were crushed by third ranked Diamond Dolphins (15-7) 76-55 on Saturday. Diamond Dolphins dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Shiga L-Stars' 30. They outrebounded Shiga L-Stars 42-26 including a 36-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. American forward Justin Burrell (207-88, college: St.John's) had a double-double by scoring 13 points and 15 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the former international point guard Takumi Saito (172-95) chipped in 13 points and 8 assists during the contest. Four Diamond Dolphins players scored in double figures. At the losing side American forward Jordan Hamilton (201-90, college: Texas) responded with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists and his fellow American import guard Jonathan Octeus (193-91, college: Purdue) scored 21 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Diamond Dolphins have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 15-7 record having just two points less than leader Chiba J., which they share with Kawasaki BT. Loser Shiga L-Stars dropped to the fifth place with 14 games lost. Diamond Dolphins will face again Shiga L-Stars (#7) at home in the next round.
