Regular Season Round 17: Szolnok - Alba 85-83

The most exciting game of round 17 in the A Division took place in Szolnok. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of 6th ranked Alba (5-2) to fifth ranked Szolnok (7-1) 85-83 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Alba. Croatian center Marjan Cakarun (204-90, agency: PEPI SPORT) stepped up and scored 24 points and 9 rebounds for the winners and Montenegrin forward Bojan Subotic (203-90) chipped in 20 points and 6 rebounds. Szolnok's coach Gasper Potocnik used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. International swingman David Vojvoda (195-90) responded with 21 points and 4 assists and American forward Stacy Davis (198-94, college: Pepperdine, agency: Slash Sports) scored 18 points and 5 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Szolnok have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They moved-up to third place. Alba at the other side keeps the sixth position with two games lost. Szolnok are looking forward to face DEAC (#8) in Debrecen in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Alba will play at home against ZTE KK and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
