Regular Season Round 10: Besancon - Caen 59-77

Everything went according to plan when second ranked Caen (5-1) defeated on the road 9th ranked Besancon (2-4) 77-59 on Saturday. Caen forced 25 Besancon turnovers. It was a very good performance for Georgian power forward Giorgi Korsantia (207-98) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds. Nigerian point guard Jeremiah Mordi (194-93, college: Queens, NY, agency: Green Sports Management) contributed with 13 points and 4 assists for the winners. Caen's coach Fabrice Courcier used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Forward Kevin Lavieille (198-96) replied with a double-double by scoring 11 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists and Glenn Duro (193-88) added 14 points and 11 rebounds in the effort for Besancon. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Caen have an impressive five-game winning streak. They keep a position of Group B leader. Loser Besancon dropped to the tenth place with four games lost. They share the position with Orchies and Avignon/Pontet. Caen are looking forward to face league's second-placed Saint Vallier on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Besancon will play against C'Chartres (#4) and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
