There was no surprise when 6th ranked Joventut (10-5) was defeated on the road by third ranked FC Barcelona (12-3) 88-74 on Sunday. FC Barcelona made 21-of-24 free shots (87.5 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Joventut's players. The best player for the winners was Hungarian Adam Hanga (200-89, agency: Octagon Europe) who scored 18 points (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Greek-American point guard Nick Calathes (197-89, college: Florida) chipped in 10 points and 7 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was international forward Xabier Lopez-Arostegui (200-97) who recorded 13 points and the former international guard Pau Ribas (194-87) added 11 points and 4 assists respectively. Four Joventut players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. FC Barcelona have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain third place with 12-3 record having just one point less than leader Real Madrid. Loser Joventut dropped to the fifth position with five games lost.
