The game between second ranked CB Canarias (12-2) and fourth ranked Baskonia (11-4) was the most important one in the last round on Sunday night. CB Canarias was defeated by Baskonia in a tough game in Vitoria 72-79. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of CB Canarias. Baskonia looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was a great evening for Argentinian guard Luca Vildoza (191-95) who led his team to a victory scoring 8 points and 9 assists. Lithuanian forward Rokas Giedraitis (200-92) helped adding 15 points and 4 steals. The best for the losing side was Finnish Sasu Salin (191-91) with 10 points and 6 assists and American power forward Tyler Cavanaugh (206-94, college: GWU) scored 10 points and 5 rebounds. CB Canarias' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Baskonia have a solid series of three victories in a row. Defending champion maintains fourth place with 11-4 record. CB Canarias at the other side keeps the second position with two games lost. Baskonia are looking forward to face Zaragoza (#16) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. CB Canarias will play against Andorra (#9) and is hoping to win this game.
