There was no surprise when 8th ranked Leon (1-2) lost at home to sixth ranked Xiria (3-2) 93-79 on Sunday. Xiria shot 60.3 percent from the field. They also forced 19 Leon turnovers. It was a very good performance for Argentinian point guard Bruno Pallotti (182-98) who helped to win the game recording 27 points and 4 assists. Senegalese center Mamadou Diagne (208-98) contributed with 24 points and 4 steals for the winners. Forward Alberto Garcia (196-99) replied with 22 points (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field) and swingman Marcos Fernandez (191-99) added 14 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Leon. Four Leon players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Xiria moved-up to second place, which they share with 5 other teams. Loser Leon dropped to the fifth position with two games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
