Everything went according to plan when fifth ranked Akita Happinets (15-9) defeated at home 9th ranked San-en NeoPhoenix (5-19) 89-79 on Saturday. Akita Happinets made 16-of-19 free shots (84.2 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by San-en NeoPhoenix's players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Akita Happinets made 7 blocks. It was a good game for American forward Alex Davis (206-92, college: Fresno St.) who led his team to a victory with 17 points and 5 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Point guard Masashi Hosoya (173-89) contributed with 15 points for the winners.
