Sichuan stayed in the title hunt as they beat Shanghai in the quarterfinal game. Blue Whales dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Swordfish's 38. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. International Ting Shao (183-89) stepped up and scored 33 points (!!!), 8 rebounds and 5 assists (on 14-of-18 shooting from the field) for the winners and the former international Song Song (188-92) chipped in 14 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. At the losing side center Zhangzhi Ting (193-95) responded with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists and guard Yingyun Li (173-95) scored 17 points and 7 assists. Five Blue Whales and four Swordfish players scored in double figures. Swordfish's coach gave up on the game allowing to play twelve players seeing no chance for a win.
