National League top team - Ironi Ashkelon (7-0) managed to deliver another win. This time they beat twelfth ranked Elitzur Yavne (2-5) 81-70. Ironi Ashkelon made 23-of-29 charity shots (79.3 percent) during the game. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. Elitzur Yavne was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. The winners were led by American forward AlLonzo Coleman (207-89, college: Presbyterian) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 28 points, 11 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals and naturalized American guard Clarke Rosenberg (193-93, college: Chicago St.) supported him with 7 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists. Even a double-double of 25 points and 11 rebounds by American power forward Franklin Hassell (203-88, college: ODU) did not help to save the game for Elitzur Yavne. His fellow American import swingman Kenny Manigault (195-91, college: Pikeville) added 12 points and 13 rebounds for the hosts. Four Elitzur Yavne players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Ironi Ashkelon have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 7-0 record. Elitzur Yavne at the other side keeps the twelfth place with five games lost. Ironi Ashkelon will play against Maccabi Raanana (#11) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Elitzur Yavne will play against Maccabi Ashdod and hopes to get back on the winning track.
