Regular Season Round 7: Craiova - Constanta 69-61

Bottom-ranked Constanta is still unable to win any game. This time they lost on the road their third consecutive match to ninth ranked Craiova (2-1) 69-61 on Tuesday evening. Constanta trailed by 15 points at halftime and as many as 16 after three quarters before a 26-18 last quarter charge cut the deficit to 61-69 at the end of the game. Craiova dominated on the defensive end, holding Constanta to just 4 points in second quarter. They made 18-of-21 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game. Craiova forced 19 Constanta turnovers. It was an exceptional evening for international swingman Dragos Diculescu (196-99) who led the winners and scored 24 points. Croatian power forward Mate Vucic (203-97, agency: PEPI SPORT) accounted for 6 points and 14 rebounds for the winning side. American guard Trevor John (190-95, college: Drexel) came up with 17 points and 7 rebounds and point guard Cristian Mainea (182-98) added 11 points and 7 assists respectively for Constanta in the defeat. Constanta's coach Alexandru Olteanu tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Craiova moved-up to seventh place. Constanta lost their third game in a row. They still close the standings with three games lost. Craiova will meet higher ranked Voluntari (#6) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Constanta will play against Dinamo B. (#10) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
