Very expected game when 19th ranked Gipuzkoa (2-14) lost to eleventh ranked La ICL Manresa (8-8) in San Sebastian 71-78. Point guard Daniel Perez (188-90) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 12 assists for the winners and American power forward Scott Eatherton (206-91, college: Northeastern, agency: BeoBasket) chipped in 16 points and 7 rebounds. Four La ICL Manresa players scored in double figures. Montenegrin Dino Radoncic (202-99) responded with 17 points and 5 rebounds and Colombian center Jaime Echenique (211-97, college: Wichita St.) scored 12 points and 7 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. La ICL Manresa moved-up to ninth place, which they share with UCAM Murcia. Gipuzkoa lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team stay at the bottom position with 14 games lost. La ICL Manresa will play against UCAM Murcia (#10) on the road in the next round. Gipuzkoa will play against Bilbao (#18) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
