Regular Season Round 8: Voluntari - Craiova 85-64

The game between closely ranked teams ended with sixth ranked Voluntari's (4-2) home victory over 7th ranked Craiova (2-2) 85-64 on Wednesday. The game was mostly controlled by Voluntari. Craiova was better in fourth quarter 24-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Voluntari dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Craiova's 32. Worth to mention a great performance of Canadian guard Devoe Joseph (193-90, college: Oregon) who helped to win the game recording 22 points and American point guard Anthony Hickey (180-92, college: OK State) who added 11 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists during the contest. Voluntari's coach Sasa Ocokoljic felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Croatian point guard Goran Filipovic (180-96) responded with 19 points and international swingman Dragos Diculescu (196-99) scored 12 points and 5 rebounds. Voluntari have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Steaua B. Craiova at the other side keeps the seventh position with two games lost. Voluntari will face higher ranked Oradea (#3) at home in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Craiova will play against Miercurea Ciuc (#13) and hope to win that game.
