Regular Season Round 15: Tofas - Turk Telekom 78-64

The most shocking disappointment of round 15 was a road defeat of 4th placed Turk Telekom (9-6) to eighth ranked Tofas (7-7) 78-64. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Tofas made 7 blocks. It was a great evening for British-American guard Tarik Phillip (191-93, college: WVU) who led his team to a victory scoring 11 points, 7 assists and 5 steals. Trinidad and Tobago-American Devaughn Akoon-Purcell (196-93, college: Illinois St.) helped adding 13 points and 8 rebounds. Four Tofas players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Canadian power forward Kyle Wiltjer (208-92, college: Gonzaga) with 14 points and 5 rebounds and American forward Sam Dekker (204-94, college: Wisconsin) scored 9 points and 9 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Tofas moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Gaziantep and Buyukcekmece. Turk Telekom at the other side keeps the fourth position with six games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
