Very important is a road loss of second ranked BC Vienna (9-6) against eighth ranked Gunners Oberwart (7-8) on Wednesday night. Visiting BC Vienna was defeated by Gunners Oberwart in Oberwart 95-80. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of BC Vienna. The game was mostly controlled by Gunners Oberwart. BC Vienna managed to win second period 32-28. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The winners were led by American forward Quincy Diggs (198-90, college: Akron, agency: Mansfield and Associates) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 38 points (!!!) and 13 rebounds and the other American import guard Lawrence Alexander (190-91, college: NDSU) supported him with 22 points and 7 rebounds. Four Gunners Oberwart players scored in double figures. Even 23 points by Croatian swingman Ivan Siriscevic (197-87, agency: PEPI SPORT) did not help to save the game for BC Vienna. Israeli forward Anton Shoutvin (207-89) added 19 points for lost side. Gunners Oberwart maintains eighth position with 7-8 record. Loser BC Vienna dropped to the fourth place with six games lost. Gunners Oberwart will meet league's leader Dukes in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. BC Vienna will play against Raiffeisen Flyers Wels and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
