Important game to mention about took place in Castellon. Eighth ranked Girona (3-6) saved a 2-point victory on the road edging second-best Castello (9-3) 84-82 on Friday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the home team. Worth to mention a great performance of Dutch forward Olaf Schaftenaar (208-93, college: Oregon St.) who helped to win the game recording 15 points and 7 rebounds and Latvian center Davis Rozitis (215-90, college: Hawaii) who added 17 points during the contest. Rozitis is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. The best for the losing side was guard Eduardo Duran (190-91) with 19 points and Cameroonian forward Arnaud-William Adala Moto (198-93, college: Towson, agency: Duran International) scored 15 points and 6 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Newly promoted Girona maintains eighth position in Gold with 3-6 record. Castello at the other side keeps the second place with three games lost. Girona will play against Huesca (#9) at home in the next round. Castello will play against the league's leader HLA Alicante (#1) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
