Regular Season Round 14: Amager - Wolfpack 74-83

BasketLigaen top team - Wolfpack (5-7) managed to deliver another win on Saturday. This time they beat fifth ranked Amager (1-11) in Kastrup 83-74. The guests trailed by 7 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 8-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 83-74. Wolfpack dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Amager's 40. Wolfpack forced 22 Amager turnovers. The former international point guard August Haas (188-97, college: St.Edward's) notched 28 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists to lead the effort and American Devin Thomas (203-96, college: Indiana St., agency: One Motive Sports) supported him with 18 points and 12 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Even 22 points and 6 assists by guard Oscar Quackenbush (187-99) did not help to save the game for Amager. Power forward Andreas Hoier (205-95) added 10 points and 13 rebounds for the hosts. Four Amager players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Wolfpack maintains first position with 5-7 record. Amager lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the fifth place with 11 games lost. Wolfpack will meet league's second-placed Randers on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Amager will play against Horsens IC and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
