Regular Season Round 27: Silute - Vilkaviskis 87-86

Tenth-ranked Vilkaviskis (6-8) made lots of trouble for sixth ranked Silute (10-6) on Saturday. Silute managed to secure only one-point victory 87-86. However their fans expected much easier game. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Vilkaviskis. Silute forced 20 Vilkaviskis turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a great evening for the former international forward Valdas Vasylius (203-83, college: ODU) who led his team to a victory scoring 30 points and 7 rebounds. Forward Rytis Biliartas (201-91) helped adding 14 points and 10 rebounds. The best for the losing side was the former international Martynas Linkevicius (196-85) with 21 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists and Aurimas Birgelis (190-88) scored 18 points and 4 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Silute maintains sixth place with 10-6 record. Newly promoted Vilkaviskis dropped to the ninth position with eight games lost. Silute will meet at home Neptunas-Akv. (#11) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Vilkaviskis will have a break next round.
