Regular Season Round 8: Orleans - Cholet 72-88

There was no surprise when 9th ranked Orleans (3-4) was defeated at home by second ranked Cholet (6-1) 88-72 on Saturday. Cholet outrebounded Orleans 41-29 including 16 on the offensive glass. The best player for the winners was point guard Nathan De Sousa (187-3) who scored 26 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Swingman Kevin Marsillon-Noleo (203-2) chipped in 20 points and 6 rebounds. Swingman Kyllian Rotardier (194-2) produced 21 points and 6 rebounds and naturalized Beninese center Jean-Fabrice Dossou (210-0) added 16 points and 8 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Four Orleans players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Cholet have a solid four-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Strasbourg. Loser Orleans dropped to the eleventh place with four games lost. Cholet will face Gravelines (#9) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Orleans will play against Boulazac and hope to win that game.
