Regular Season Round 13: Benfica - Maia Basket 93-73

Very expected game in Lisbona where 12th ranked Maia Basket (2-11) was crushed by fourth ranked Benfica (10-3) 93-73 on Saturday. Benfica looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. American forward Quincy Miller-Scott (206-92, college: Baylor) stepped up and scored 14 points and 8 rebounds for the winners and his fellow American import point guard Tweety Carter (180-86, college: Baylor) chipped in 14 points and 6 assists. Four Benfica players scored in double figures. At the losing side American swingman Lamar Morgan (198-97, college: Coppin St.) responded with 26 points and U.S. Virgin Islands forward Romani Hansen (203, college: Albany) scored 19 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Benfica moved-up to third place. Maia Basket lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the twelfth position with 11 games lost. Benfica will face CAB Madeira (#9) in Funchal in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Maia Basket will play on the road against Esgueira and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
