Regular Season Round 13: Alicante - Castello 81-87

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of HLA Alicante (9-3) at the home court on Saturday night. Hosts were defeated by Castello (10-3) 87-81. It was a key game for the top position in Gold. It was a great shooting night for Castello especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 61.1 percentage. Naturalized Dominican power forward Juan Jose Garcia (201-89, agency: Duran International) stepped up and scored 24 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners and guard Eduardo Duran (190-91) chipped in 20 points. At the losing side American point guard Justin Pitts (178-94, college: NW Missouri St.) responded with 19 points and 8 assists and guard Txemi Urtasun (192-84) scored 21 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Castello keeps a position of Gold leader. HLA Alicante at the other side dropped to the second place with three games lost. Castello are looking forward to face Palma (#5) in S'Arenal in the next round. HLA Alicante will play on the road against Huesca and is hoping to win this game.
