Regular Season Round 7: Poitiers - Nantes 66-64

Poitiers' fans can finally celebrate the first win of their team after five consecutive losses. The victory is especially important as they edged much higher ranked Nantes (3-2) 66-64. Poitiers forced 19 Nantes turnovers. It was a great evening for British guard Dwayne Lautier-Ogunleye (193-96, college: Bradley) who led his team to a victory scoring 13 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. American-British point guard Akeem Williams (184-91, college: UMass Lowell) helped adding 14 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. Four Poitiers players scored in double figures. At the losing side American-Armenian point guard Terry Smith (185-86, college: Mercyhurst) responded with 19 points and Ludovic Negrobar (208-91) scored 9 points and 10 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Poitiers (1-5) left bottom position moving up to sixteenth place, which they share with Gries/Oberhoffen and Lille. Nantes at the other side keeps the sixth position with two games lost. They share it with Vichy Clermont and Paris. Poitiers will play against higher ranked JA Vichy (#8) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Nantes will play against SPO Rouen and hopes to get back on the winning track.
