Regular Season Round 15: Imortal - Benfica 93-86

Very important is a road loss of third ranked Benfica (11-4) against fourth ranked Imortal (11-3) on Sunday night. Visiting Benfica was defeated by Imortal in a tough game in Albufeira 86-93. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Benfica. Imortal forced 20 Benfica turnovers. It was a great evening for American guard DJ Fenner (198-93, college: Nevada) who led his team to a victory scoring 33 points (!!!) and 8 rebounds. His fellow American import center Tyere Marshall (206, college: Rider) helped adding 18 points and 18 rebounds. Four Imortal players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American guard Bryce Alford (190-94, college: UCLA) with 23 points (went 10 for 10 at the free throw line !!!) and the former international Betinho Gomes (202-85) scored 17 points and 5 rebounds. Imortal moved-up to third place. Benfica at the other side dropped to the fourth position with four games lost. Imortal will play against Esgueira (#10) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Benfica will play against Academica (#8) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
