Regular Season Round 4: Haukar - Keflavik 76-83

Rather predictable result when top-ranked Keflavik (3-0) won against 6th ranked Haukar (1-2) in Hafnarfjordur 83-76 on Monday. Haukar trailed by 13 points after 3 quarters before a 23-17 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 76-83 at the end of the game. Keflavik looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. It was a very good performance for Lithuanian center Dominykas Milka (203-92, college: St.Rose, NY) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 19 points and 12 rebounds. The former international guard Hordur Vilhjalmsson (194-88) contributed with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 assists (made all of his seven free throws) for the winners. Four Keflavik players scored in double figures. Irish-American forward Brian Fitzpatrick (202-89, college: Bucknell) replied with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds and Spanish-Colombian point guard Hansel Atencia (178-97, college: Master's, agency: Players Group) added 16 points and 6 assists in the effort for Haukar. Keflavik have a solid three-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Grindavik and Stjarnan. Loser Haukar keeps the sixth place with two games lost. Keflavik will face Njardvik (#5) on the road in the next round. Haukar will play against the league's leader Grindavik and hope to win that game.
