Rather expected game when 9th ranked Vilkaviskis (8-10) was defeated at home by seventh ranked Telsiai (13-6) 79-66 on Thursday. Telsiai looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The best player for the winners was point guard Ignas Razutis (185-87) who scored 15 points, 8 rebounds and 9 assists. Power forward Mindaugas Norkus (201-85) chipped in a double-double by scoring 15 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Edgaras Stanionis (195-88) who recorded 18 points and 9 rebounds and the former international Martynas Linkevicius (196-85, agency: BIG) added 14 points respectively. Four Vilkaviskis players scored in double figures. Telsiai have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to sixth place. Newly promoted Vilkaviskis keeps the ninth position with ten games lost. Telsiai will face Mazeikiai (#13) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Vilkaviskis will play against Ezerunas (#11) in Moletai and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
