Very important is a home loss of second ranked North Macedonian MZT Skopje (4-2) against seventh ranked Serbian Sloboda U. (4-2) on Friday night. Host MZT Skopje was defeated by Sloboda U. in Skopje 81-70. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of MZT Skopje. Sloboda U. made 20-of-23 free shots (87.0 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 32 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Sloboda U. made 16 blocks. Forward Aleksa Stepanovic (206-98) scored 20 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Aleksa Ilic (205-0) chipped in 19 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. Four Sloboda U. players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American guard Hassani Gravett (188-96, college: S.Carolina) with 27 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists and 7 steals and American-Jamaican power forward Femi Olujobi (206-96, college: DePaul) scored 19 points, 7 rebounds, 7 assists and 5 blocks (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). MZT Skopje's coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Sloboda U. moved-up to third place, which they share with MZT Skopje and Podgorica. Sloboda U. will meet at home Sutjeska (#9) in the next round where they are favorite. MZT Skopje will play against the league's leader S.Centar (#1) in Podgorica and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
