Very expected game in Cajetina where 14th ranked Slovenian Helios Suns (1-6) were defeated by second ranked Serbian Zlatibor (5-1) 80-73 on Friday. Zlatibor looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Zlatibor made 17 blocks. Dragoslav Papic (204-87) scored 23 points (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) to lead the charge for the winners and Dusan Kutlesic (200-94) chipped in 13 points, 7 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 blocks during the contest. The best for the losing side was Bine Prepelic (200-1) with 17 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 blocks (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) and Panamanian-American guard Kaleb Joseph (190-95, college: Creighton) scored 19 points and 5 blocks (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Four Helios Suns players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Zlatibor have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 5-1 record having just one point less than leader S.Centar. Loser Helios Suns stay at the bottom place with six games lost. Zlatibor will meet Rabotnicki (#10) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Helios Suns will play against Siroki (#12) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
