There was an upset when higher ranked Kipina (7-7) lost to twelfth ranked PeU-Basket (6-6) in Aanekoski 77-88 on Saturday. The game without a history. PeU-Basket led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. American forward Saiquan Jamison (203-98, college: Bowie St.) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 19 rebounds. Guard Timur Emaldynov (192-3) contributed with 23 points for the winners. PeU-Basket's coach Samu Kaaresvirta used a ten-player rotation saving starting five for next games. Lauri Jantti (202-98) replied with 18 points and 9 rebounds and forward Sami Mantymaa (193-88) added 19 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Kipina. PeU-Basket moved-up to eighth place in 1st Division. Newly promoted Kipina keeps the sixth position with seven games lost. PeU-Basket will face Karkkila (#11) on the road in the next round.
