Third-ranked KP Brno (12-5) was very close to win a game against first ranked Sokol HK (16-2) in Hradec Kralove on Thursday. Sokol HK managed to secure only one-point victory 79-78. However their fans expected easier game. Sokol HK made 19-of-23 free shots (82.6 percent) during the game. Forward Klara Mareckova (185-90) saved the victory by scoring 15 points and 7 rebounds. Guard Kristyna Cuperkova (173) contributed with 13 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Five Sokol HK players scored in double figures. The former international Katerina Zohnova (179-84) answered with 21 points and 6 rebounds and Canadian power forward Emily Potter (196-95, college: Utah, agency: Shark Sports Management) added 15 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for KP Brno. Sokol HK have an impressive series of eight victories in a row. Despite that victory Sokol HK went down to second position due to points difference. KP Brno at the other side keeps the third place with five games lost. Sokol HK will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game.
