Regular Season Round 9: Gries/Oberhoffen - Lille 99-103

The game between closely ranked teams ended with seventeenth ranked Lille Metropole's (2-5) road victory over bottom-ranked Gries/Oberhoffen (1-7) in Bischwiller 103-99 on Saturday. Strangely Gries/Oberhoffen outrebounded Lille Metropole 37-24 including 28 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. Quite impressive performance for American guard Raijon Kelly (193-93, college: Angelo St.) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 9 assists. Swiss point guard Jonathan Kazadi (195-91) contributed with 18 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. American forward Brandon Edwards (198-91, college: UT Arlington) answered with 20 points and 6 rebounds and Ivorian point guard Jean-Francois Kebe (185-94) added 15 points and 9 assists in the effort for Gries/Oberhoffen. Four Lille Metropole and five Gries/Oberhoffen players scored in double figures. Lille Metropole moved-up to fifteenth place, which they share with Aix-Maurienne. Gries/Oberhoffen lost sixth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with seven games lost. Lille Metropole will face higher ranked Quimper UJAP (#5) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Gries/Oberhoffen will play against SPO Rouen (#13) and hope to win that game.
