There was a minor upset in Sofia where 11th ranked Pravets (4-8) was defeated by fourteenth ranked Polytechnica (3-10) 77-73 on Saturday. Strangely Pravets outrebounded Polytechnica 56-35 including a 23-11 advantage in offensive rebounds. Pravets was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. Lebanese swingman Omar El Ayoubi (196-91, agency: BIG) had a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and guard Nayden Naydenov (185-99) chipped in 13 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. Polytechnica's coach Yanko Yanchev used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. Swingman Vladimir Petrov (195-89) responded with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 15 rebounds and power forward Pavlin Ganchev (198-95) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Polytechnica moved-up to thirteenth place, which they share with Champion 2006. Pravets lost third consecutive game. They keep the eleventh position with eight games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
