Regular Season Round 10: Gries/Oberhoffen - Rouen 84-67

Bottom-ranked Gries/Oberhoffen managed to get a second victory, breaking the six-game losing streak. This time they won against fourteenth-ranked SPO Rouen in Bischwiller 84-67. It's especially surprising that the victory came too easily and 17-point difference suggests that Gries/Oberhoffen is in a good shape to leave the bottom place. Gries/Oberhoffen outrebounded SPO Rouen 34-22 including 25 on the defensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. American forward Brandon Edwards (198-91, college: UT Arlington) orchestrated the victory by scoring 21 points and 5 rebounds. Kevin Dinal (200-93) contributed with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Five Gries/Oberhoffen players scored in double figures. Gries/Oberhoffen's coach Ludovic Pouillart used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Swingman Pierre-Etienne Drouault (196-90) replied with 17 points and 5 assists and American-Nigerian forward Christian Nwogbo (200-91, college: Cedarville) added 15 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for SPO Rouen. Gries/Oberhoffen (2-7) moved-up to seventeenth place, which they share with Aix-Maurienne. SPO Rouen lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the thirteenth position with six games lost. Gries/Oberhoffen's next round opponent will be higher ranked Poitiers (#15) at home and it may be quite challenging game.
