Second Stage Round 2: Timberwolves - UBSC Graz 78-97

There was a small surprise when UBSC Graz crushed Timberwolves in Vienna 97-78 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by UBSC Graz. Timberwolves was better in fourth quarter 23-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. UBSC Graz looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. American guard Stanley Whittaker (183-94, college: Keiser) orchestrated the victory with a triple-double by scoring 16 points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists. The other American import forward Nick McGlynn (203-96, college: Drake) contributed with 26 points and 9 rebounds (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field) for the winners. Four UBSC Graz players scored in double figures. Guard Jakob Szkutta (188-99) replied with 20 points and 5 assists and Bosnian forward Nemanja Nikolic (202-89) added 8 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Timberwolves. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. UBSC Graz will face BC Vienna on the road in the next round. Timberwolves will play against Arkadia Lions in Traiskirchen and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
