The game between closely ranked teams ended with tenth ranked Etoile Angers' (6-8) road victory over 11th ranked Vanves (3-8) 107-105 on Saturday. Etoile Angers forced 19 Vanves turnovers. Vanves was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for American power forward Jason Jones (203-86, college: Northeastern St.) who led his team to a victory with 28 points and 5 rebounds. Moroccan forward Karim Gourari (203-89) contributed with 12 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. American guard Jordan Barham (193-94, college: Davidson) replied with 22 points and 8 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) and swingman Raphael Desroses (199-80, college: Garden City) added 18 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Vanves. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Vanves' coach Sylvain Mousseau rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Etoile Angers moved-up to ninth place in Group A. Vanves lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the twelfth position with eight games lost. Etoile Angers will face Dax-Gamarde (#13) in Gamarde les Bains in the next round. Vanves will play on the road against Vitre and hope to win that game.
