The game in Nicosia was also quite interesting. Apollon played at the court of Apoel. Apoel managed to secure a 7-point victory 78-71 on Wednesday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Apollon won fourth quarter 20-19. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American guard Davion Berry (193-91, college: Weber St.) scored 23 points to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import forward Marcus Gilbert (198-93, college: Fairfield) chipped in 18 points during the contest. American power forward Joey Dorsey (206-83, college: Memphis) responded with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 14 rebounds and international point guard Filippos Tigkas (184-2) scored 20 points and 4 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Apoel will meet E.N. Paralimni on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Apollon will play against Keravnos and hope to secure a win.
