Regular Season Round 17: TSU - Kutaisi 68-83

The game between Top Four teams took place in Tbilisi. 3rd placed host TSU (7-6) lost to second ranked Kutaisi (10-3) 83-68. It looked good early as TSU took a 2-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Kutaisi had a 18-14 second period charge getting the lead and TSU was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 68-83. American point guard Kaheem Ransom (183-93, college: SHSU) nailed 20 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side and the former international Akaki Dvalishvili (207-91) accounted for 14 points and 11 rebounds. Four Kutaisi players scored in double figures. International swingman Saba Lobjanidze (197-93) came up with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and American power forward Quintin Dove (201-98, college: UT Martin) added 20 points and 7 rebounds respectively for TSU in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Kutaisi maintains second place with 10-3 record behind leader Rustavi. TSU lost their third game in a row. They keep the third position with six games lost. They share it with Olimpi. Kutaisi will play against league's leader Rustavi at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. TSU's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Tbilisi Olimpi.
