Liga Endesa top team - Real Madrid (21-1) managed to deliver another win. This time they beat sixth ranked Burgos (15-7) 96-81. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Burgos. Real Madrid dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Burgos' 30 and made 19-of-22 charity shots (86.4 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Burgos 37-25 including 26 on the defensive glass. The winners were led by naturalized Cape Verdean center Walter Tavares (220-92) who scored that evening 27 points, 7 rebounds and 6 blocks (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field) and American-Azerbaijani guard Jaycee Carroll (188-83) supported him with 17 points. Even 15 points by Brazilian Vitor Benite (192-90) did not help to save the game for Burgos. Cuban power forward Jasiel Rivero (204-93, agency: Pro Sports) added 13 points and 8 rebounds. Four Burgos players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Real Madrid have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 21-1 record. Defending champion Burgos keeps the sixth place with seven games lost. Real Madrid will play against UCAM Murcia (#13) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Burgos will have a break next round.
