Very expected game in Santiago de Comp where 14th ranked Blusens Monbus (7-13) was crushed by fourth ranked CB Canarias (18-5) 97-71 on Sunday. CB Canarias dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Blusens Monbus' 32. It was a great shooting night for CB Canarias especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 60.0 percentage. Worth to mention a great performance of Brazilian-Italian point guard Marcelinho Huertas (191-83) who helped to win the game recording 22 points and 6 assists and Georgian center Giorgi Shermadini (217-89) who added 19 points and 5 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) during the contest. Four CB Canarias players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American Mike Daum (206-95, college: S.Dakota St.) with 21 points and Lithuanian center Laurynas Birutis (213-97) scored 11 points and 8 rebounds. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. CB Canarias moved-up to third place, which they share with Baskonia. Blusens Monbus lost third consecutive game. They keep the fourteenth position with 13 games lost. CB Canarias will have a break next round. Blusens Monbus will play at home against Movil Estudiantes (#16) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
