Regular Season Round 23: Trapani - Biella 87-83

No shocking result in a game when eleventh ranked Trapani (8-10) defeated at home 14th ranked Biella (5-15) 87-83 on Sunday. Trapani made 23-of-27 free shots (85.2 percent) during the game. Trapani outrebounded Biella 43-16 including a 34-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. Biella was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was American forward Shonn Miller (201-93, college: UConn) who had a double-double by scoring 24 points and 12 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line). His fellow American import LaMarshall Corbett (189-88, college: Angelo St.) chipped in 22 points and 7 assists (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line). Four Trapani players scored in double figures. American swingman Jeffrey Carroll (198-94, college: OK State) produced 36 points (!!!) and point guard Gianmarco Bertetti (179-1) added 15 points respectively for the guests. Biella's coach Iacopo Squarcina let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Trapani moved-up to ninth place in A2. Loser Biella keeps the fourteenth position with 15 games lost. Trapani will face higher ranked Cd'Orlando (#8) in Capo d'Orlando in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Biella will play at home against Casale (#12) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
