We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 14th ranked Cholet Basket (3-7) lost on the road to fifteenth ranked Chalon/Saor (4-7) 84-79 on Saturday. Chalon/Saor had a 30-18 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. American point guard Garrett Sim (181-90, college: Oregon) orchestrated the victory by scoring 26 points and 4 assists (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). Latvian center Martins Meiers (208-91) contributed with 20 points and 7 rebounds (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field) for the winners. American-Liberian Lasan Kromah (198-91, college: UConn) replied with 23 points and Greek power forward Chris Horton (202-94, college: Austin Peay) added 8 points and 12 rebounds in the effort for Cholet Basket. Chalon/Saor moved-up to thirteenth place. Cholet Basket lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the fifteenth position with seven games lost. Chalon/Saor will face higher ranked SIG Strasbourg (#5) on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
